Day seven was a interesting day. We started the day off by working on the computer which was fun for me. We learned how to do some measurement and time lines concerning the earth. I can use this in my class, but instead of doing it by hand the student would do it on the computer. I would be incorporating History and Science in my class. The students will understand how to do a timeline. Then after lunch we learn how to over lap in drawing and painting to make a picture. That was fun, but we had to be patient because everybody did not finish at the same time. Then we listen to a young man talk about Indians and how as teachers we have to be careful how we teach it to our students. We have to make sure that we do not offend students and students do not disrespect them. We as teacher need to feel that way about what ever we teach. Respect what you teach and how you teach it. If we do that then our students would do the same.
Today in GAETI was a day of meeting new people and learning new ideas. The day started off with an energize instructor that was very happy and enthused about what she telling us. We also meet other professors that was happy to see us and explained their roll in GAETI. Then we explored the IED building and took a walk to the library. At the library we learned about MAGNOLIA and how it can be used in the classroom. It was very interesting to me because I can show my students different ways to research. Also, it will give my students a chance to explore some information they might be interested in. In the second half of GAETI I learned about the different standards and how they can be used in English, History, Technology, and Science. In my group we discuss ethics and how to use all the standards that were presented today. My group member gave a website where students can create comic strips free.
