Today in GAETI we went to the coal mine. It was interesting learning about what they really did at the coal mine. It open my eyes a little, my preconceive notion was not what I expected. The presenter was fun and he kept my attention. The reclamation process was amazing. They can make the land back new like it was untouched. Given a person back their land just like it was handed to them is great. The last thing we did was an activity that involve clay, sand, gravel and pea gravel. It was fun and if I was and science teacher I would use it in my class. It teaches the students about porosity and permeability. It would be fun, but it could be messy at the same time. I thought the Red Hills mines was interesting, but I would have preferred more hands on.
